JESSE EISENBERG TO RECEIVE “CINEMACON® MALE STAR OF THE YEAR AWARD”
EISENBERG CAN BE SEEN IN “NOW YOU SEE ME 2” BEING RELEASED BY LIONSGATE’S SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT LABEL ON JUNE 10, 2016
WASHINGTON D.C. (April 11, 2016) – Jesse Eisenberg will receive the “CinemaCon® Male Star of the Year Award,” it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon. CinemaCon, the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO) will be held April 11-14, 2016 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Eisenberg will be presented with this special honor at the “CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards” ceremony taking place on the evening of Thursday, April 14, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, hosted by the Coca-Cola Company, the official presenting sponsor of CinemaCon.
“Jesse Eisenberg is one of our most dynamic and captivating actors today. He brings a sense of excitement and nuance to his roles, making each character a true original. His depth of talent is endless as currently evidenced by his remarkable and fascinating performance as Lex Luthor in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” noted Neuhauser. “We can only imagine what he has up his sleeve when he returns this summer in the highly anticipated ‘Now You See Me 2’. We are honored to single him out as our Male Star of the Year."
This summer Eisenberg can be seen returning in the Summit Entertainment, a K/O Paper Products production and Jon M. Chu film, “Now You See Me 2” arriving in theaters on June 10, 2016. The Four Horsemen (Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Lizzy Caplan) return for a second mind-bending adventure, elevating the limits of stage illusion to new heights and taking them around the globe. One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public’s adulation with their Robin Hood-style magic spectacles, the illusionists resurface for a comeback performance in hopes of exposing unethical practices of a tech magnate. The man behind their vanishing act is none other than Walter Marry (Daniel Radcliffe) a tech prodigy who threatens the Horsemen into pulling off their most impossible heist yet. Their only hope is to perform one last unprecedented stunt to clear their names and reveal the mastermind behind it all.
Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee, Jesse Eisenberg is a multifaceted actor in addition to being an acclaimed author and playwright. His past film credits include “The Social Network,” “Roger Dodger,” “The Squid and the Whale,” “The Education of Charlie Banks, “Zombieland,” “Adventureland,” “30 Minutes or Less, “The Double,” “Night Moves,” “Now You See Me,” “American Ultra” and “The End of Tour.” He can currently be seen in “Batman v. Superman” and in the upcoming release “Louder Than Bombs.” Eisenberg has been in various plays, including “The Spoils,” and wrote and starred in his plays “The Revisionist” and “Asuncion.”
